Description
Reconstructs the career of a forgotten mid-17th c. painter active in Rome and Paris. Probably worked on the ceiling of the Grand' Chambre of the Parlement at Rennes. Suggests that several paintings and drawings attributed to Poussin are by Errard. Engraved illustrations after his designs include Brevarium Romanum, 1647. (Courtauld Institute)
