Note :
ABSTRACT: On the history of Lafrery's project for a set of engraved views of Rome and its ancient monuments. The collection, entitled Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae, included engravings by a variety of artists, including Enea Vico, Nicholas Beatrizet and Etienne Duperac. Also looks at the dispersion and reuse of the copperplates after Lafrery's death (1577).
